Regarding Q. 4 on p. 74
When I was doing this question I did the following:
Factor the denominator completely:
Then decompose the integrand into partial fractions:
I was going through the question and I got

However these values did not give me the answer pompted on page 74.
I discovered this was because I put

when I was factoring the denominator. ie

No this doesn’t make any difference (unless you put your
with the wrong linear factor…).
