Just giving ye fair notice that the test will take place at 9 am on Wednesday February 22 in WGB G 05 NOT not the ordinary lecture location.

Everything covered up to February 9 inclusive is examinable and you may expect a sample by about February 9.

This Week

In lectures, we finished off chapter 2.

In tutorials we did p.17 Q.1 (d)(f), p.32 Q.1,9, p.36 Q. 7, 8, 12 and p.39 Q. 2, 3.

Teaching Practise

Be aware that these two weeks are a terrible risk to you falling behind in integration so make serious efforts to either keep up with the work or catch up ASAP: week 4’s lectures.

Note that I will not be scanning up any more of these notes.

The lecture notes are now ready and must be purchased at the SU printing shop in the student centre. They are priced at €10. I thought they’d be cheaper but they contain all the exercises, all the homeworks and a lot of exam papers.

Note that the notes are NOT available in An Scoláire on College Road. I know that some of ye have gone there and are returning to get these notes tomorrow.

They will not be there as I have not emailed him a copy of these notes.
The notes are available in the SU SHOP IN THE STUDENT CENTRE.

In the mean time please find the first two lectures here — up to but not including Section 1.2.

Just a chance for me to give some feedback on some of your most common… feedback. Of course your opinions are correct – they are your opinions. Here are my opinions on some of your opinions.

Normally the failing of teaching evaluation, is that ye never see the fruits of your criticisms. However, as I am currently drafting the MS 2002 notes ye have had a chance to improve your lot in this module at least.

A lot of people felt that through a combination of not leaving ye enough time to fill in notes, talking to fast or just going to fast, that ye didn’t have enough time to digest explanations. At least for the rest of this module we can address that.
